Paul Slater from Rutland County Council was winner of 2013 Workplace Challenge: Activity Log individual CO2 saved leaderboard and collected his bike this week!

The 2013 Workplace Challenge Activity Log has some fantastic prizes on offer courtesy of our generous sponsors. Read on to find out about the spot prizes awarded so far and the prizes available for the winning individuals and workplaces. Who will be the winners of the 2013 Workplace Challenge Activity Log???

At midnight on Sunday 20th January the Workplace Challenge 2012 statistic counter will be zeroed and the Workplace Challenge Activity Log 2013 will be on!

On Saturday 12th May organisations from across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland were invited to attend the inaugural Business Games!

Winning workplace University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) who took part in the Activity Log have been spending their well deserved prize! UHL beat off stiff competition to gain the title of the organisation with the highest CO2 saving, and won £400 to encourage physical activity to their staff and within their workplace!

Their prize was split amongst the departments that took part and they each decided how to spend their portion. UHL's physiotherapists, who work across all three of the City based hospitals, decided that hydration was key! Due to spending large amounts of time working in the hospital gyms and hydro-pools the team asked for high quality water bottles for all their staff. (picture attached).

Laura Lillie, Physiotherapist commented: "Our team has enjoyed the challenge, and the friendly banter between the team members! It's made us think about the amount of activity we do, and we'll definately be taking part again next year!"

Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Comprehensive Local Research Network (LNR CLRN) are putting their winnings towards a team building evening of laser quest! LNR CLRN also won the category for the most CO2 saved by a department and the have all been awarded with free health assessments courtesy of Optimum Performance Personal Training.

Bryony Jones commented on behalf of the University Hospitals of Leicester: "Staff from the Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Rutland Comprehensive Local Research Network have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Workplace Challenge. It has encouraged us all to do more exercise and save on CO2 by biking and walking to work.

"Our network is hosted by the University Hospitals of Leicester and we have enjoyed the friendly competition between the departments. We are going to continue the ethos of enjoying exercise with work colleagues and have organised a rounders match in May... thank you LRS for inspiring us to get fit!"

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport Workplace Challenge Activity Log saw a sprint finish take place, as last minute activities were logged before the close at midnight on Sunday 11th March!

The 2012 Active Together Workplace Challenge launched on Monday 16th January. Register now, get active and get all your colleagues involved to be in with a chance of winning our amazing prizes!

The Activity Log is now live so get active and get logging all your activity! The Activity Log is running for 8 weeks until 11th March and you can back date any activity you've done to 16th January.
