Walking for Health is England's largest network of health walks with over 400 active schemes. All walks are supported by specially trained volunteers who are on hand to provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind. Ramblers organises group walks for health, leisure and as a means of getting around to people of all ages, backgrounds and for all levels of fitness. Its website has details of many locally organised walks in towns and cities, as well as the countryside.

RunTogether has been created by England Athletics to provide fun, friendly, supportive and inclusive running opportunities for everyone in England.
England Athletics and British Blind Sport have created the Find a Guide database to help you start, get back into or stay running. If you are 18 or older simply search for guide runners near you using your postcode.
Couch to 5k is a running plan designed to take you from complete beginner to 5 kilometres.
Parkrun organises free, weekly 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free and are safe and easy to take part in or volunteer.

The Conservation Volunteers: Green Gyms
The conservation volunteers works with thousands of people across the UK, helping them to discover, improve and enjoy their local green spaces and by doing so create happier and healthier communities.
Green Gyms are fun and free outdoor sessions where you will be guided in practical activities such as planting trees, sowing meadows and establishing wildlife ponds.
Unlike other conservation projects, the emphasis is very much on health and fitness - volunteers warm up and cool down in preparation for a range of light to vigorous activities to suit all abilities
